About us
Scoggin's General Store is a family owned and operated business nestled in the heart of downtown Gorham, New Hampshire. Originally built in the 1880's, it was transformed into a gift shop in the year 2000. A few years later the owners decided to change careers and enlisted the help of local realtor, Steve Grone, to help them sell the business. Upon first inspection of the building, Steve fell in love with the place and urged his wife, Erica to come explore the old house. Steve had always wanted to go into business for himself and couldn't pass up the opportunity. The historic woodwork and old charm of the building solidified their feelings and they purchased the business in 2005, keeping the name "Scoggin's" as a tribute to the local Androscoggin River and its natural beauty.
While living above the store, Steve and Erica enlisted the help of their two children, Emily and Tanner, to operate the business~ Along with a small staff of friendly locals ready to welcome you, the store offers a diverse inventory where there really is "something for everyone." The homemade fudge is both yummy and popular, and kids love browsing the candy counter for both new and old-fashioned goodies. The store also carries several souvenir items, many of which feature the ever popular moose. Collectible figurines, products from local artisans, garden and yard decor, unique frames and artwork, an extensive toy selection, and an expansive wall of Christmas ornaments add to the numerous products offered here. You can count on Scoggin's to be an enjoyable place to browse and find that special gift.
